Team Spotlight: Ruth Mott, Court Reporter
Clark & Associates is very pleased to have Ruth Mott! Ruth originally joined C&A back in January of 2013, when she moved to Charleston after 20 years working as a court reporter in Philadelphia. After 8 months with us, she ventured out and tried her steady hand reporting in the courts, only to realize that C&A was the place to be! We welcomed her back with open arms last September and she tells us, “Everyone here is passionate about what they do and really care about doing the best they possibly can for their clients and co-workers. It’s an honor to be among such an excellent team of individuals.”
Ruth was born in Wellsville, NY, and grew up in Friendship, a small town a couple hours south of Buffalo. She earned her Associates Degree from the State University of New York at Alfred in 1992, and over her career has earned such certifications as Registered Professional Reporter, and Certified Realtime Reporter. She says “court reporting is all I know how to do,” and thinks the best aspect to working in the legal field is, “learning about new things every day and meeting amazing people.”
Ruth enjoys spending time with her husband, T-Jay, their beautiful daughter Gabrielle, and their yellow labs, Bella and Beau, and jokes about their cat, Scout, a skilled backyard hunter, and admits, “we tell her she can kill all the blue jays she wants, but it’s a sin to kill a mocking bird.”
If she’s not quietly spending time alone on her porch reading, you might find Ruth spending time with family and friends, relaxing on the beach, and exploring the lowcountry.
We couldn’t be more proud to have Ruth back on our team of reporters!
Team Spotlight: Darah Nekola Bolen,
Court Reporter
Darah has been with Clark & Associates longer than anyone. Over the years she has befriended the owners Lynn and her husband Reid, and is considered part of the family! She was born and raised in Tama, IA, and studied Court Reporting at the American Institute of Business College in Des Moines, earning her Associates Degree. She got her feet wet in the industry and soon earned her RPR and CSR in Iowa before moving to Charleston, SC in May of 2006 to join Clark & Associates’ team of court reporters.
Darah tells us her favorite aspects of court reporting and working for C&A are: “the flexible schedule and our AMAZING clients. I LOVE our clients. I love working with Clark & Associates because they are so cutting edge in the court reporting world. Their ability to think outside the box and constantly move the company forward is incredible. I love knowing that we are doing things that most people wouldn’t even dream of doing and always having a lead in the industry. I also love Lynn and Reid. Lynn took me under her wing when I was 21 yrs old and I wouldn’t be where I am today without her. I place 95% of my success as a reporter on her. She is my inspiration and who I strive to be like everyday! I hope to be half the court reporter she is someday!”
Darah enjoys boating, working out, and spending time with her adorable son Maverick and her husband Tony where he works, and their two “kids”: Dallas, a Bluetick Coonhound, and Marley, a Boxer.
We couldn’t be more proud to have Darah still on our team of reporters!
